Holiday Diaries - SYDNEY

Writing about this is already filling me with so much happiness and I have barely written anything lol. As I am sure you know if you follow me on instagram https://www.instagram.com/tashlankester/ I have just got back from Sydney! (also if you don’t, what you doing pls go follow me right now I post daily health and fitness inspo and every follow counts :)).

So I am going to document what we did when we went out there from start to finish.

I went out for my graduation, but obviously it is a long way to go for just one day, so we made a whole 10-day trip out of it. I flew from London with my boyfriend (shocked that he didn’t get fed up of me after 48 hours of total travel time - although now I am back we haven’t seen each other since Monday so maybe there is some sort of correlation there thinking about it hmm).

We arrived super early on the Friday and we stayed at the InterContinental in Double Bay for a few days which was absolutely heavenly. Such a gorgeous hotel. The first couple of days were spent catching up with my besties and their significant others. I actually had one too many espresso martinis (got a bit too over excited) on the first day so trying to power through on the second day through to the end of the day was just not going to happen. The combination of hangover and jet lag is not one I wish upon anyone. We did manage to do the walk from Coogee to Bondi though which was lovely, and I think that just used up all my energy.

On the Sunday morning, we moved over to an AirBnB as my parents and brother arrived :) My immediate family all live in Hong Kong -it’s just me in London :( - so they flew from there. We spent Sunday with my best girlfriends, my parents, brother and two of our gorgeous family friends who are more family than friends who also made the trip out from Gold Coast for my grad drinking Prosecco and eating amazing food at this restaurant called the Boathouse in Mosman and just all getting way too over excited. But it was the most fantastic day and I think it really was the highlight of my trip.

I think we had ended up drinking for 9 hours (whoops), so as you can imagine, the next day was spent very quietly as we were all feeling v fragile. I am pretty sure we spent most of the day watching Bondi Rescue and then ordering food.

After being well rested, me and George woke up the next day and went to go find a gym. Luckily there are no shortages of gym’s in Sydney, as everyone is into their fitness - quick side note; every second shop on the high streets in Sydney are either a gorgeous authentic cafe, some sort of fitness space, or an organic health food store. These are literally my favourite things ever, coffee and wellness - why did I ever move back to England???

Anyway, I managed to have a great gym session due to the amount of food I had been consuming hehe. This was the only gym I did the whole trip, I wasn’t planning on going at all to be honest, I was treating it as a rest week for myself, but it is good to keep your body moving somewhat. We then went back to the Boathouse for lunch on this day, and I think we stayed till dinner. The staff were so sweet and made me a pink cocktail as a graduation gift.

The next day, the whole fam and friends did the Spit to Manly walk. Which all in all is about 3 hours as we walked all the way to the other end of Manly when we got there (well the girls did, the boys had decided enough was enough and got an Uber for the last 5k haha #girlpower). There is another Boathouse in Manly - as I am sure you can now guess, my family is not one for change, if we find a restaurant we like, we stick with it lol - so we went for lunch here to end our walk which was beautiful.

The next day, one of my best girlfriends flew down from Melbourne for my grad <3, so the day was just spent catching up with her, we had lunch at the house, drank rose, played beer pong - which was girls v boys so we had prosecco in our cups hehe. And the girls won so again #girlpower. We didn’t have a crazy late one as the next day was the big day!

Graduationnn - this was honestly such a special day. Me, mum and dad had to go early to get my gown fitted, and they were the only ones who were actually allowed into the ceremony lol, I was only given two tickets, but invited so many people to stand outside the Great Hall where the ceremony was being held, thats basically the same right? No actually my brother, boyf and my girlfriends just made sure they were outside for when the ceremony was ending, so I saw them on my way out. We took lots and lots of pics, then went to have Pimms and prosecco at the Pimms graduation bar at Uni, so cute. Afterwards, we had lunch booked at Coogee Pavillion which was amazing. Then a lot of my other friends showed up later for drinks and partying. It was honestly the most special day and there was so much love. I will never forget it. The last few days were just spent spending time with everyone. The trip just went far too quickly and leaving was very sad. Having to say goodbye to my family at the airport was no fun. A few tears were shed after they left, lucky I had one of those giant Toblerone’s as comfort food :/. Shoutout to anyone who lives away from their family, it is so hard. I hate it and if I could have it another way I would - but I am meant to be in London, and they are meant to be on the other side of the world :(. It does motivate me to work harder though so I can eventually afford to travel all the time so I can see them as much as possible. Another silver lining is that we do not take any family time for granted, every second counts, and it makes trips like we just went on extra special. But if I was able to see them every day, I would still trade that any day. Family is so important, make sure you let them know!

Anyway, now I am back in London, and I am glad to be back to my routine, and I have got a very busy few months ahead of me in terms of my business. TashaFIT Ltd is now a thing if you didn’t know, the page will be coming to my website very soon! Which is so surreal and exciting for me! A big leap, a big risk, but how can anyone ever win or be successful if they were not prepared to fail. This is my baby, and I am so determined to make a success of it, even if I experience a few setbacks here and there. Never give up on your dreams.

Wow I am so grateful if you made it all the way through this. I kind of ended on a tangent, but its all relevant. I feel like I always expect to write a couple of paragraphs and end up just word vomiting on the page, but it is nice for me to have all of these memories documented - even if no one reads this haha. But if you did read, thank you so much, I really appreciate it and I’ll see you in the next one :) Hope you have a fab week ahead, and next I think I will be coming to you with some healthy recipe hacks, so if you are restricting your eating, it doesn’t have to be boring xxxx
